RATLOU: – The community of Makgobistad village in Ward 2 of Ratlou Local Municipality is still realigning from shock following the passing of a well-known Journalist Poloko Tau. Tau, a Makgobistad born and a feature writer for the National newspaper “City Press” passed away in his Unit 8 Mmabatho residence yesterday, Friday 21 January 2022. The cause of his death is still unknown and no foul play is suspected at this stage.
Poloko Tau was not just a seasoned journalist and feature article writer of note but was also a community activist, a leader on his own rights and a community member who like any other community member played a crucial role by bringing change to the lives of other people. Said ‘’Ratlou Local Municipality`s Mayor, Cllr. Matlhomola Jafta.”
“Poloko was one of us; he was not just a journalist but a brother, an uncle, a son and above all a citizen of Ratlou. Like his family, we are as much still devastated by his untimely passing.” Concede the Mayor”.
